Once the site of a medieval settlement dating back to the Iron Age, Chywoone is a haven of peace and tranquility set in the remotely beautiful moorland of the Lizard peninsula. In this delightful setting a detached longhouse of 12th Century origin and a restored 15th Century cottage now provide two comfortable, cosy retreats. Standing at the end of a short unmade farm track, near the Owner’s house with its landscaped grounds, they have a small open terrace each and share a lawned garden, beyond which there is an acre of old orchard where wildlife abounds. Close by, Coverack is an enchanting unspoilt fishing harbour, and nearby St Keverne has a butcher, baker, grocer and two pubs in the village centre. There is spectacular walking from your doorstep, and the coastal path is but a short distance away. These properties share a private water supply (tested regularly).

Huge standing stones form the entrance to The Long House. Inside, the cosy sitting/dining-room has a door leading out to the terrace, and a welcoming wood-burner effect oil-fired stove sits snugly in the stone fireplace. Stone floors and exposed beams follow through to the hand-built kitchen and the bathroom, which boasts under-floor heating. Upstairs, both bedrooms have pine floors with colourful rugs complementing the antique pine furnishings.
