North Devon’s coastline is renowned for spectacular views, especially from Hartland Point and Hartland Quay, boasting wonderful walks, with the coastal path winding along high cliffs to coves and beaches. Stoke Lodge is a charming 1920s house on the outskirts of Stoke village near the Devon and Cornwall border. The Owner, who lives in the main house, has converted a wing into spacious and quite separate accommodation. Half a mile or so from the Quay itself, with a lovely view of Blackpool Mill beach from almost every room (see photograph), this is a delightful property. The sitting/dining-room, with French doors to a small raised patio, overlooks the Owner’s beautiful gardens which guests are welcome to use (please take care with children around the two ponds). The well-fitted kitchen has glass-panelled walls so even the cook can enjoy the vista. Upstairs are two pretty bedrooms with captivating sea views. Stoke Lodge is perfect for a holiday whatever the weather, and ideal for exploring the delights of both counties. This property is not available to young children, although a baby up to 12 months old is welcome.
