Rail enthusiasts will be delighted that Stogumber Station and the West Somerset Steam Railway are just a short walk away from Honeycomb Cottage. For those not so dedicatedly steam-driven, the Quantocks, Blue Anchor Bay, Kilve’s rock pools, Minehead’s sandy beach and glorious Exmoor are all within half an hour’s drive – and there are six golf courses within twelve miles to choose from! This spacious converted barn is part of a small country estate, formerly a bee farm which is also home to a wonderful mix of wildlife, owned by a keen naturalist who still keeps bees (well away from the house!). Although semi-detached, the cottage is very private, with a sheltered terrace and deck overlooking the Owner’s pond (there is no access to the pond, but please take care with children) and a fenced paddock which guests are free to enjoy. The accommodation is almost all on one level with French windows leading out to the deck from the large sitting/dining-room, which is warmed by a welcoming wood-burner. From the conservatory, which opens onto a walled terrace, there are two shallow steps up to the cream Shaker-style kitchen, with the bedrooms and family bathroom beyond.
