A half-hour drive from Tavistock, just outside the village of Buckland Monachorum, Ludbrook Cottage is set on the banks of the River Tavy (see photograph). Buckland Abbey is nearby, as is The Garden House. This 80 acre estate leads onto Dartmoor and guests can enjoy the wooded grounds and riverside walks (take care with toddlers). The west-facing, detached cottage has a sunny patio, a games-room and a large grassed area for guests’ use. Inside is a spacious kitchen, with a step to the dining-area. Green walls complement cream units and the Italian-style tiled floor. The sitting-room has a wood-burner for cooler evenings. Another step leads to the single bedroom with an en suite shower-room, and upstairs are three more bedrooms (one with views over the River Tavy) and a bathroom. Beautifully furnished, Ludbrook Cottage is a comfortable home, whatever the season. The cottage has a private water supply (tested regularly). Please note the lower rent band does not apply for holidays beginning on or between 3 June to 8 September and is only applicable for parties of 4 + cot or less.
