Ashton village straddles the road from Penzance to Helston, under two miles from golden Praa Sands in one direction and five minutes’ drive from Porthleven’s picturesque harbour in the other. With the nearby coastal path linking the area’s beautiful beaches and romantic hidden coves, the south coast’s infinite variety is easily accessible from Demelza – as are those essential provisions, since the village shop and pub are just a few yards away! Nestling between its neighbours in a small cul-de-sac off the main road and ideal for couples or small families, this spacious single-storey semi-detached former barn is decorated in restful seaside colours, cream walls complementing blue carpets. With steps up from the parking-area, the raised south-facing patio (please take care with toddlers) looks seawards across fields, a distant sparkle sometimes visible on sunny days. Patio doors lead into the open plan living-room, where comfortable leather sofas overlook the patio and the maple kitchen has granite-effect worktops. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are along the hall, Demelza’s ‘front’ door opening onto a shared rear courtyard.
