This semi-detached cottage is a real gem, tucked away down a leafy path yet in the heart of the village of Strete, which has a good pub, restaurant and shop. Steps lead down to the path to the cottage, which is a short walk from where you can park, and as you walk around the corner of the house, you will see the sea in front of you. There are sea views from all the main rooms and from various areas of the terraced garden (take care with children around the small pond). The patio is outside the front door and you will probably spend time here admiring the view (see photograph). Pipers Cottage is a real home-from-home and even if the weather is not so good, the open fire, full central heating, conservatory-style dining-room and well-equipped kitchen make it very welcoming. This area of Devon, with its rivers, beaches and lovely villages is well-known. Blackpool Sands is a wonderful beach just down the road and of course, Dartmouth with its long naval tradition is within a short drive. The neighbour has a seldom-used right of way in front of the cottage.
