Perched high on the cliffs at Cape Cornwall with a sheltered terrace overlooking the sea, all rooms at East Bounds have spectacular views across the Atlantic towards the Brisons. Priest’s Cove, with a jumble of fishermen’s huts, rock pools and a tide-filled bathing pool for smaller children, is a short walk down the cliffs. East Bounds (in the middle of the photograph) is close to the coastal path and Ballowal Barrow, a Bronze Age burial mound, is nearby. The cottage, on the outskirts of St Just, is approached by a very bumpy unmade lane (unsuitable for low suspension vehicles) across the cliff. The cosy, Shaker-style kitchen-area, warmed by the Rayburn, leads into the dining-area, which has an antique pine dresser and an ornamental fireplace. One open-tread staircase (please take care with toddlers) leads to the double bedroom, the bathroom and the delightful sitting-room with its cosy wood-burner, here you can distract yourselves with a book or watch the ever-changing sea. A second staircase leads up from the single bedroom to the twin bedroom (this is the only access to the twin bedroom).
